More active N.Z. market
Trading picked up on a firm New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, after a quiet opening session on Monday. Dalhoff and King fell 30c to 10c, the first time it has traded since the lifting of its Friday suspension after news of the firm's being in receivership. Hawkins continued to rise, in spite of reports that its merger talks with McConnell Dowell are in abeyance until an independent valuation of the company is completed. Computer Consultants, the subject of speculation after a brokers report suggesting it was a recovery stock, rose 5c to 140 c. Its price has fluctuated between 110 c and 150 c since it announced a $717,000 loss earlier this month.
