Offer to aid prisoners
• The United States has offered to airlift food and supplies for thousands of Argentine troops taken prisoner by British forces in the Falklands, said Western diplomats. The diplomats said they believed Britain had riot yet responded to the American offer of aid made by the State Department. They said they believed Britain was hoping for a quick response to its request to the Argentine Government for a comprehensive cease-fire in the South Atlantic so it could begin moving the Argentine prisoners off the islands.- .
