1982-83 sales dates
This year's Ashburton sales will be held on Monday. November 8. the day before the running-of the New Zealand Cup at Addington Racewav. Usually the sale has been held eariv in September. The change has been made as a result of the policy of Wrightson Bloodstock. Ltd, to hold sales in association with a major race meeting. The auctioneers say that while the new date might not suit the owners of broodmares. which are due to foal or have foaled close to the date, but inquiry for this type of stock has been limited. It is felt that the November sale will be to the advantage of vendors of yearlings: The annual national sale will be held in Christchurch on Thursday. February 17. 1983. the day after the New Zealand Derby Stakes. The mixed sale will be held on Friday. February 18. the day before the Pan Am Mile. The Great Northern sale will be held on Monday. March 21. with a mixed sale the following day. This is in the final week of the InterDominion Championship series at Alexandra Park. The Southland sale will be run on Friday, April 22. the day before a meeting of the Invercargill Trotting Club.
