Justice Dept guide
An 88-page guide to information available from the Justice Department has been released by the department. Jointly produced by Mr Brian Priestley, reader in journalism at the University of Canterbury, and the department, the book outlines the information available from each of the department's 11 divisions. The role and organisation of each division is explained, as is how to obtain information. Most sections of the book include an editor’s commentary — Mr Priestley's “constructive suggestions” for each division. The book, which took six months to complete, is designed as a guide for the news media, researchers, and members of the public. It is available from the Government Bookshop, at $3.50 a copy.
