Dole figure drops
PA Wellington The number of people .on the dole fell slightly during Mav.
Figures released by the Social Welfare Department yesterday showed that 29,653 people (17.400 men and 12.253 women) were receiving unemployment “benefit at the end of May compared with 30.176 a fortnight earlier. \ The figures include only those actually on the dole, and not those on special work schemes.
