Master Blaster works well
Special correspondent Hastings Rose Durrant, who prepared N'ioami to win at Wanganui on Saturday, could have another success soon with Master Blaster. Master Blaster handles winter footing well and revelled in the heavy conditions at the Hastings track yesterday morning. Galloping was carried out on the plough and No. 1 grass. Master Blaster worked in from the 1200 m peg on the No. 1 grass and picked up his stablemate Nyha'vn at the 1000 m. The two came home from there in lmin 4.95, the last 600 m in 39.45. ‘ Master Blaster has filled a
minor placing at Gisborne and Rotorua in his last two starts and looks close to winning form. Double Header worked keenly over a round on the sand and then came out and galloped 1000 m on the No. 1 grass, the last 600 m taking 39.55. Thrust and Tallboy were let off with a quiet rim over 1000 m, the last 800 m in 56.9 s and final 600 m in 41.75. Thrust looked right at home in the heavy conditions. Prenora and Regal Mission clocked a fast 37.8 s for 600 m while Legitimate and Volition showed a good turn of speed over 800 m in 51s, the last 600 m in 38.55.
