South Sydney upset
Manly-Warringah and Parramatta continue to lead the Sydney rugby league premiership after narrow wins over Western Suburbs and Canterbury-Banks-town, respectively, last weekend. But their former co-leader. South Sydney, suffered a shock loss to the bottom side. Canberra. Only two points separate the next six teams in a remarkably keen tussle for the top five play-offs later in the season.
