Manslaughter charge

NZPA London News that three men have been accused . of manslaughter following the death four years ago of the Italian middleweight Angelo Jacopucci after a fight with England’s Alan Minter was received with amazement in British boxing circles yesterday. Minter won the fight, which was for the European title, by a twelfth round knockout, Minter later became the world middleweight champion. Reports from Italy yesterday said referee Raymond Baldeyrou, Jacopucci’s manager Rocco Agonstini and the ring doctor Ezio Pimpinelli had been committed for trial in Bologna after

a long investigation by Judge Marco Boniventi. The referee and manager should have had the fight stopped according to. the judge while the doctor should have ordered that Jacopucci be taken to hospital after a knockout.
