The presence of one of the country’s most exciting greyhounds, Clubs Colours, will embellish* the field for the Queen’s Birthday Stakes, the first leg of the T.A.B. concession double at the Christchurch. Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting .at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Friday evening. The striking Diack son of Kim’s Mint and Petite Koala has strung together an impressive list of firsts, his most recent successes coming at. Wellington and Palmerston North. Last Saturday at Palmerston North, he won a class 4 and 5 race in the fastest time for the meeting. The Methven owned and trained youngster’s last appearance on the track was in April when he went a grand race to finish second to Lennie Rodgers in the Garden City Classic. Lennie Rodgers will be among the opposition again, but Clubs Colours is at his . peak and should comfortably. turn the table. The main threat to Clubs Colours might be La Key Toe, which has made a-brilliant comeback after being off the scene for eight months during, which she whelped a litter. The tenacious Call Me Hobbs-. vMoss Key Toe black.bitch won iresh up in' her heat of the Robinson Rose Bowl on May 6 and was runner-up to Macluke in the final at the-last meeting. She is a good beginner and will be suited bv the box No. 3 draw. .
