Winter Cup $26,000
The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Winter Cup this year will be worth $26,000. This is an increase of $6OOO, which includes a $4500 sponsorship from the International Harvester Company of New Zealand, Ltd. The New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase this year will be worth $21,000, and the Grand National Hurdles $16,000. Stakes for the three-day meeting total $157,325 compared with $143,825 last year.
