W.A.A.C. head dies
The first commander of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, Mrs Vida Jowett, died in Patea Hospital yesterday, aged 90. The War Cabinet approved the formation of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps on June 22, 1942, and on July 1 Mrs Jowett assumed the appointment of chief commandant,
