Greenpeace ship sails
NZPA Washington Greenpeace International said that a ship carrying 28 of its members had left Helsinki for Leningrad yesterday for a meeting with Soviet officials about nuclear disarmament. ' "Greenpeace will appeal to the Soviet Union to take a concrete., initiative to stop nuclear'weapons tests by th,e immediate suspension of. their nuclear testing pro-’’ gramme.” Greenpeace said. The ship, the Sirius, is due at Leningrad today. Greenpeace said last week that its .representatives: would meet Gregory Lokshin, secretary of the Soviet Peace Committee, and other Soviet officials on. board the ship. Eight nations were represented among the" 28 crewmembers, Greenpeace said.
