I.O.C. high honour

PA Wellington New Zealand rowing's driving force through the successes of the 19705, Don Rowlands, has become the third New Zealander to receive high honours from the International Olympic Committee. Rowlands, aged 54. has been awarded the 1.0.C.'s bronze medal for his distin-

guished contribution to the Olympic movement. Only one other New Zealander, Harold Austad, the former chairman and president of the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association, has been awarded the bronze medal — one of the 1.0.C.’s administrative equivalents of its sporting gold, silver and bronze medals.
