Canty side to defend title
Three members of the New Zealand under 23 women’s hockey team that played in the international tournament in .Palmerston North , last week, are in the Canterbury side that. will defend the national under 21 title in Wellington this weekend. ' .
Kathy Paterson, the captain of the national side, Debbie Hockley and Leanne Doig will lead the Canterbury challenge against four other teams .— Northland, Waikato, Wairarapa and Otago. The team is:
Tanya Johnston, Paterson (captain). Debbie Penney, Hayley Read, Jane Jenkins, Hockley, Linda O'Cain, Phillipa Baker, Cathy Oliver, Cindy Smith, Doig, Sue Duggan, Bonnie Paniora. Nontravelling reserves: Chris McDonnell, Vivienne Cowles.
