Computer power probe
PA Wellington The Government would order an inquiry into the standard of stand-by power systems at the Wanganui Computer Centre, said the Minister of State Services (Mr Thomson). The inquiry will be conducted by the Controller and the Auditor-General. The move followed allega-
tions made in an affidavit by Mr G. E. McCready, about the standard of the stand-by systems, he said. Although the allegations could not be substantiated, and were inaccurate in part, the inquiry was decided upon for the sake of public confidence, said Mr Thomson. He hoped that a report would be available soon.
