Canty wins badminton
Canterbury easilv qualified for the national junior badminton teams’ finals when it won all its matches against other South Island teams at the Skellerup Hall at the week-end. The home side dropped only two games on its way to a clean sweep of the five-round elimination series. The tournament final will be played in Wellington in September. Southland finished second after winning four matches. The Canterbury team, coached by Paul Boatwood, was:—Craig Crosweller, Shane Tetai, Richard Mitchell, John Fletcher, Michael Porter.
