Average wage $252
PA Wellington The average weekly ordinary time wage in February was $252.45, says the Labour Department. The figure for males was $275.90 and for females, $213.74. The $252.45 (all persons) figure represented a 16.9 per cent increase over the previous February, according to
the quarterly employment survey. In the three months from November to February, the number of male full-time employees increased slightly while the number of female full-time employees decreased. Decreases in part-time employment were recorded in the February quarter in both 1981 and 1982.
