Gin and tonic to celebrate
NZPA London Glenn Turner sipped a celebratory gin and tonic in the middle after reaching his first century yesterday. The drink was supplied by the former Pakistani and Warwickshire batsman, Billy Ibadulla, who first encouraged Turner to try his luck in England. But the alcohol obviously didn’t go to his head as he continued to punish the attack.
The double century came up in 204 minutes, and that was followed by his highest score in England, beating this season’s 239 not out against Oxford University.
