Carter net profit 47 p.c. higher
Carter Hott Holdings, Ltd, the Auckland-based sawmiller and building supplies group, increased its total group net equity profit 23.4 per cent to $21,898,000 in the year to March 31, the directors announced in a preliminary report yesterday. The profit was after providing $1,607,000 more for tax at $3,658300, and $247,000 more for depreciation at $5,349,000. Minority interests in subsidiary company profits took $1,219,000 more at $5,136,000. Extraordinary profits, arising mainly from property sales, were $735,000, com-
pared with $2,967,000 previously. Group net profit attributable to shareholders of the holding company was thus $16,027,000—an increase of 47 per cent. The results of Henderson and Ltd, which cover an iPmonth period after a change of balance date, are equity accounted for a period of 9 and one-half months from Carter Holt’s takeover of the company in June, 1981. The results of Canterbury Timber Products, Ltd, are consolidated into the group accounts for the six months from October 1, 1981.
