Man lost from boat

The Timaru police have found no suspicious circumstances in the loss overboard of a man from the Timaru long-line fishing vessel Cecilia Trosca last Sunday. He was David John Feary, aged 38. married, of 18 Hobbs Street, Timaru; . Mr Feary, a member of the boat’s crew, is believed to have gone overboard

about 5 a.m. on Sunday while the Cecilia Trosca was almost 350 kilometres east of Lyttelton. The Timaru police interviewed the crew after the vessel berthed at Timaru on Wednesday morning. A police spokesman said that an inquest had been opened, and that the facts known would be reserved for the Coroner’s Court hearing.
