Randall’s flawless 130
NZPA London Derek Randall yesterday played his way back into consideration for the England team after an absence of 25 tests. The 31-year-old Nottinghamshire batsman scored a flawless 130 not out for the M.C.C. in the test trial
against the Indians at Lord’s. With Chris Tavare narrowly missing a century and David' Gower gracing his way to 55 the batsmen on trial stormed to 319 for four in just five hours. M.C.C. 319/4 dec. (D. W. Randall 130 not out, C. J. Tavare 99, D. 1. Gower 55), India 28/1.
