Girl freed
A Filipino girl has been freed from six years of captivity by armed men in the southern Philippines who kidnapped her in 1976 when she was a mere eight-years-old. says the Philippine News Agency. Freed last week as a 14-year-old girl, Lourdes Ortudste could now speak only the dialect of the Filipino Muslim tribe she lived with during her captivity, P.N.A. said. She had also adopted tribal ways, sleeping on floors and preferring to walk barefoot. — Manila.
