Population estimated at 3,190,100

PA Wellington New Zealand’s total population had provisionally been estimated to be 3,190,100 persons at March 31, said the Government Statistician, Mr J. H. Darwin, yesterday. In the corresponding quarters in 1981 and 1980, the population had decreased by 5500 and 2700 respectively. The provisional estimated mean population fpr the year to March 31, 1982, was 3,162,100.
