Baha’i faith
Sir,—The national programme of Radio New Zealand reported that three Baha'is were recently executed in Iran, because they had visited Israel. Baha is visit Israel for the purpose of making a pilgrimage to the Baha’i shrines situated in Haifa and Akka. It is the desire of every Baha'i around the world to make such a pilgrimage, which can be likened to Christians visiting Bethlehem and Jerusalem, or Muslims travelling to Mecca and Medina. These executions reflect the systematic programme of persecution of Baha'is in Iran by the Iranian authorities—Yours, etc., HELEN HOWARTH, for Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Christchurch. May 12, 1982.
