Lay-off for Compton
PA Hamilton Bruce Compton will be unable to ride at Dargaville today or at Te Rapa tomorrow after being injured in a fall at the Marton Jockey Club's meeting at Awapuni on Wednesday. , Compton’s mount,, Halifax, came down with 8(M)m to run in the Rata Maiden. In the same incident, Pernile was brought down, but her rider, Maree Lyndon, escaped unhurt. Compton suffered severe bruising to his right -shoulder and a badly sprained finger. After visiting his doctor, Compton said from his home in Matamata that there was no chance of him riding today or tomorrow.
