Privileges hearing on May 28

PA Wellington The Social Credit research officer. Mr Terry Heffernan, of Christchurch, said yesterday that he would be called before Parliament’s Privileges Committee on May 28. Mr Heffernan's case was referred to the committee after he wrote an article for the “New Zealand Times” attacking Parliament's pairs system by which the Opposi-

tion withdraws members one for one with absent Government members. Parliament decided that Mr Heffernan's article was a matter of privilege and it will be up to the committee to decide whether a breach has occured. Mr Heffernan said he did not know yet if he would be allowed counsel. That was a matter for the committee to decide, he said.
