Incursion reported Venezuelan troops have crossed into Guyana at the Eteringbang border post, according to unconfirmed reports reaching the Guyanan capital, Georgetown. Officials said President Forbes Burnham was analysing the reports. Venezuela denied the reports. Since Guyana expressed support for Britain .in the Falklands crisis and Venezuela came out in favour of Argentina, Guyana has expressed fear that Venezuela would use force to make good its. claim to five-eighths of the former British colony.—Georgetown. Appeal for journalists The Secretary-General of the United Nations has intervened with Argentine authorities on behalf of three British journalists jailed for nearly four weeks on charges of spying for the British Government. Perez de Cuellar has discussed the case with the Argentine Deputy Foreign Minister (Mr Henrique Ros) in New York, asking for its swift and favourable resolution on humanitarian grounds. The journalists being held without bail in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, are lan Mather and Anthony Prime, of the “Observer,” and Simon Winchester, of the “Sunday Times.’—Buenos Aires. '■ • ‘lraqis routed’ Iranian forces yesterday advanced on the occupied city of Khorramshahr, routing thousands of Iraqi troops and destroying more than 100 tanks, Teheran Radio has said. Teheran Radio said Iraq’s 90th Infantry Brigade has been wiped out and the 48th Infantry Brigade and the 10th Armoured Brigade had suffered heavy casualties in what it said was a final thrust aimed at recapturing Khorramshahr.—Beirut.
Licence refused
Trident Casinos have been refused a licence to run gambling at London’s- Playboy Club. South Westminster licensing justices said they were not satisfied that the company, a subsidiary of Trident Television, “was a fit and proper person to hold a licence under the Gaming Act.” Trident ' Television bought . the Playboy Club from the Playboy organisation last January after Playboy was stripped of. its licence.—London. 30 die in crash Thirty people were killed and 19 others rescued when a South Yemeni aircraft crashed Into the sea while trying to land at Aden during a heavy rainstorm. The Canadian-built civilian, aircraft, which was on an internal flight from the,new airport at Mukalla to Aden, suddenly plunged into the Gulf of Aden and broke apart, onlookers said.—Aden.
