U.S. wins tennis cup
NZPA Dusseldorp The United States captured the Nations Cup yesterday with two singles victories in the final against Australia. Gene Mayer beat Kim Warwick, of Australia, 7-6. 6,2, and his team-mate, Eliot Teltscher, then downed Peter
McNamara 0-4. 7-0. The two singles victories gave the Americans an unbeatable advantage before the closing doubles and thus assured them of first place. It was the first time the United States had won the Cup in the five years the competition has been held at Dusseldorf’s Rochus Club.
