Sir,—Assuming . that ' the article, “Is the Kremlin- caught in its own trap?” by Christo-pher-Dobson and Ronald Payne . (May 8), that the K.G.B. spends vast sums of money funding the peace movement in West-' ern Europe is true, it must be extremely, galling to' it that President Reagan merely opened his mouth to tell the world that it would be possible for the United States and the Soviet Union to wage nuclear war.in Europe without damage t 6 themselves, to send many more thousands of West Europeans than ever K.G.B. money could buy, pouring on to their streets in the growing protest movement against nuclear war. To believe the main thesis of their article the authors would have to be ignorant of, or ignore the steady stream of disarmament proposals submitted by the Soviet Government to the United States and its West European allies, which are as steadfastly rebuffed by the Western bloc.— Yours etc., M. CREEL. May 8, 1982.
