Celebrities honoured
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (8.A.F.T.A.) salutes television and film artists and technicians on One tomorrow night in the annual B.A.F.T.A. Awards 1982 programme. Denis Norden introduces the many celebrities who have gathered to honour their colleages for artistic and technical achievement in film and television during the last year. B.A.F.T.A. presents awards in more than 25 categories. Leading contenders in the
best drama category are “Private Schulz,” “Brideshead Revisited” and “Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years" (both soon to be seen on Television New Zealand). In the best television actor category are John Gielgud, Robert Hardy, Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons, whilst nominations for best television actress are Claire Bloom, Judi Dench (“A Fine Romance”), Celia Johnson and Diana Quick.
