Troops blamed
Salvadorean regular troops were responsible for killing four Dutch journalists in El Salvador last March in cold blood, a spokesman for the Dutch Foreign Ministry has said. The spokesman made the statement after a twoday interrogation in The Hague of a Salvadorean guerrilla fighter, known as “Martin,” said to be one of two survivors when nine people were killed — including the four-man Dutch television crew — in the attack. Salvador says the journalists were caught in cross-fire between the Army and guerrillas. The Hague.
