Withering burst saves Waikato
PA New Plymouth Waikato came with a withering burst in the final 10 minutes to score three tries and snatch a 15-15 draw with Taranaki in a representative rugby league match at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, on Saturday. Taranaki led 15-2 up to that stage, and should have won easily. However, a Taranaki player was sent to the sin bin and Waikato, threw everything at.- the
weakened defence, and with a bit more luck could have grabbed the win. Scorers were: Taranaki 15: B. Gall (2), H. Robinson, tries; D. Gwiazdzinski conversion; Gwiazdzinski (2) penalty goals. Waikato 15: M. Tahu, W. Toka, S. Tukiri, tries; B. O’Callaghan (2) conversions; O’Callaghan, penalty goal. Taranaki led 5 ; 2 at half time.". 5 . ,
