Manslaughter charge
PA Rotorua A Taupo man has been arrested and charged with the manslaughter of John Scrimshaw in Sydney last September. Ronald James Flavell appeared in the District Court at Taupo voluntarily earlier this week as a result of the Taupo police’s acting on a warrant issued in Australia. Flavell appeared before Judge Monaghan and was remanded on bail to appear in the District Court at Auckland on May 12, pending extradition proceedings. No plea was entered. The charge relates to an incident outside a Sydney suburban hotel on September 25.
