Pupils at Isleworth School, Christchurch, surround the New Zealand mountaineer, Peter Hillary, yesterday as he relates his recent experiences in the Himalayas. Last evening he gave a public lecture at the Museum Lecture Theatre on his 10-month traverse of the Himalayas with Graham Dingle. Hillary plans to climb the world’s fourth-highest mountain, Mount Lhotse, in September, and Mount Everest in 1984.
