‘Sentence details available’
PA Wellington Details of a secret trial and sentence in the High Court at Auckland on April 7 were available to the public, said the “Evening Post" yesterday. For a $2 fee, anyone could search the Return of Prisoners Tried, a record kept at each High Court office, which -lists the prisoner’s iname. charges, sentence, and the date of sentence.
In the April 7 case, Mr Justice Moller excluded press and public from the courtroom.
