Thatcher ‘worst P.M.'
Mrs Margaret Thatcher will go down in history as Britain’s worst Prime Minister, according to a summary of British opinion taken in 1981. The Gallup Report is a poll of surveys containing the results of opinion polls conducted on a wide range of topics throughout last year. When the public was asked who would be remembered as the worst Prime Minister, Mrs Thatcher’s name topped the list with 48 per cent, followed by Neville Chamberlain with 12 per cent. Not surprisingly, Sir Winston Churchill was considered most likely to be remembered as the best Prime Minister. — London.
