Experience of in- 1 tegrated social science pro-., grammes, curriculum d development, material produc- o tlon and the development of o in-service programmes for u secondary school teachers will I be an advantage. o SALARY: i? c Lecturer Grade I: K 14.495 per annum plus gratuity, • Lecturer Grade II: K 16.345 _ per annum plus gratuity• Senior Lecturer K 18.195 per annum plus gratuity. The gratuity entitlement is based on 24 per cent of salary earned and is payable in instalments or lump sum and is taxed at a flat rate of 2 per cent. J Experience in preparing' secondary - level teachers in 11 Home Economics would be advantageous. The appointee will be-expected to teach both Diploma and Degree courses and share responsibility of supervising student teachers during their school experience. LECTURER IN ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES (Post 82/39) Candidates with good postgraduate qualifications and tertiary teaching experiences are sought with specialisation B in law of public administration, preferably with some knowledge of administration - in developing countries. The I' successful applicant will be expected to teach in the degree, sub-degree and pre-degree programmes ,ln which the ad- ; mlnistratlve studies discipline is involved, both on campus • and by extension,’ and also to' c contribute to in-service training courses run by an'assoclated institute. f SENIOR LECTURER IN PHYSICS £ (Post 82/40) • ( Applicants should have a J Ph.D. in Physics (or a very ( closely related discipline) and I at least five years post doctoral 1 experience of University level i teaching and research. Ap- I pointees should be prepared to £ teach .at both degree .and i foundation levels. There is an £ emphasis on applied, physics i and experience in such fields i as renewable energy supplies ] and materials science would be ] an advantage. j SENIOR LECTURER READER IN MONETARY 1 ECONOMICS 1 (Post 82/41) 1 The candidate should be an ’ economist with postgraduate i training in macroeconomics ] and monetary policy and ] preferably with a Ph.D. and a ; proven Interest in development of underdeveloped countries. ; Field experience in developing countries and publications relating to monetary aspects of development are highly desir- . able. The appointee will work on such subjects as impact of various proposals for international monetary reform on small island nations; special problems of monetary policy in such countries; balance of payments and development; prob; lerns and potential of economic Integration, etc. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience in one of the following 1 scales: Lecturer F 59902-$13,859, Senior . Lecturer F 514.317$16,806 or Reader F 517.620$l9 144 In addition the University provides gratuity amounting to 15 per cent of basic salary, appointment allowance and, subject to the University’s current housing policy, .'partly furnished accommodation at a rental of 1216 per cent of salary. The University will pay an allowance In lieu of superannuation of 10 per cent of standard salary. In some cases this allowance may be paid direct to the appointee's existing superannuation scheme subject to a decision on acceptability of the scheme by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Fiji. Appointments will be for a contract period of three years ana may be renewable by mutual agreement.
