M.P.’s remarks
Sir,—The snide remarks of the M.P. for Selwyn about the Sydenham Labour Party (April 1) do her no credit. I remind her that she owes her success in Selwyn to a disastrous rugby tour and high S.M.P.S’ both paid for by the taxpayer. Despite these events and an aggressive campaign she still fell far short of her predicted 3000 majority) When it is considered along with these points that the previous M.P. in Selwyn was returned without an actual campaign in this “true blue” seat the present member’s complacency is difficult to understand—Yours, etc JOHN SUMMERS. .
