Oxford’s race
NZPA London Boris Rankov made history in the 128th annual university boat race when Oxford rowed to its seventh successive win over Cambridge by a comfortable four
lengths. The balding 27-year-old lecturer in Roman archeology became the first oarsman to win five boat races, his 208 pounds (84kg) powering the Oxford boat from the No. 5 position.
