Manawatu trip
There are a few vacancies on the annual “Press’’-Air New Zealand trip to the Manawatu Racing Club’s meeting on March 27, when a feature race is the Sires’ Produce Stakes. The tour will leave Christchurch airport at 5.45 p.m. next Friday. March 26. In Palmerston North there will be ground transport to and from the city and to and from the racecourse at Awapuni. The cost, which includes two nights accommodation at the Albert Motor Lodge on a twin-room basis (meals extra), entrance tickets, racebooks and members’ stand badges is 5185. The party will return on Sunday morning, arriving in Christchurch at 12.10 p.m. Most places have been taken by persons who have been on previous tours, and the remaining vacancies can be booked with the Editorial Manager of “The Press,” telephone 790-940, ext. 894. —Advertisement
