N.Z. netball trialists
Seven Canterbury netballers are among 21 trialists for the New Zealand team to contest a three-test series at home against Australia in July. Among them are the Canterbury captain, Adrianne Prattley, together with Ann Davidson, Leigh Gibbs, Geane Hohipuha, Wai Taumaunu, Janice Waddy, and Canterbury Country’s Maxine Munro. The trials will be held at the Hastings Netball Association’s courts on April 2 and 3. Mrs Lois Muir, of Otago,
will coach the selected team, and Mrs Betty Steffensen, of Manawatu, will be the manager. The full list of trialists is: Ruth Aitken, Catherine Fong (North Shore): Te Aroha Clarke, Rita Fatialofa. Yvonne Willering (Auckland); Christine Coates, Margaret Forsyth, Karen Henriksen. Rhonda Meads, Lyn Parker (Waikato); Ann Davidson. Leigh Gibbs. Geane Hohipuha. Adrianne Prattley. Wai Taumaunu. Janice Waddy (Canterbury): Tracey Fear (King Country): Maxine Munro (Canterbury Country); Elizabeth Neilson, Marilyn Munro (Wellington); Lyn Proudlove (Otago).
