Rod McKuen contest
Quick! “The Press” is offering three double-passes to the Rod McKuen concert at the Christchurch Town Hall, next Friday evening, March 26.
McKuen is recognised as one of the world’s leading poets and songwriters. He has sold more than 20 million books and 200 million records. He has written more than 1500 songs, and now has found the time to make a New Zealand tour.
His hits- included “Jean,” “If You Go Away,” and “Love’s Been Good .To Me.” To win one of the doublepasses, or, as a consolation, a copy of his latest album, "Someone To Watch Over Me,” you have to answer this question: Who had a hit with a McKuen composition, “Seasons In The Sun,” in the mid-19705? Entries close next Tuesday, March 23. The first three correct entries opened after that date win the double passes. The next three win the three albums. The winners will be announced in next Thursday’s “Entertainment Scene.” Entries should be sent to
— “Rod McKuen Contest,” C/- “Entertainment Scene,” “The Press,” P.O. Box 1005, Christchurch.
