Govt wins
Colombia’s ruling Liberal Party has emerged as clear winner of elections at the week-end, retaining its control of national, provincial, and municipal legislative bodies. With 72 per cent if the votes counted, officials said the Liberals received 55 per cent of the poll, their Conservative allies 41 per cent, and the legal Left-wing parties about 2 per cent. The poll was about average despite a terrorist call for a boycott. — Bogota.
