New head for Nylex
Sir James Fletcher has been appointed the new chairman of Nylex New Zea-, land, Ltd, after the retirement of Mr A. Gordon Robb, who has been the chairman since 1973, the directors announced yesterday. At the same time they said that a “very satisfactory
result in 1981” was primarily attributed to better plant efficiency, the upgrading of systems, the reduction and control of working capital, and the restructuring of assets. The launching of the Gardena range of garden care fittings had been successful and complemented
the buoyant sales in reinforced garden hose. The launch of the new range marked Nylex’s entry into the consumer market, which showed potential growth, they said. Sir James Fletcher has been a Nylex director since 1977.
