Travel staff reduced
PA Wellington The Tourist and Publicity Department is the latest Government department to cut spending. The Minister of Tourism (Mr Talbot) said that the department was abolishing three travel officer positions in oyerseas posts, as well as two locally recruited positions) Travel staff in Sydney are being reduced by two, and in Melbourne by one. A travel officer is. also being dropped in Toronto. ; Mr Talbot said that as one of the reductions. was a trade-off for the repositioning, of the travel commissioner in Canada to the consulate in Vancouver, the net loss of New Zealand-based staff would be three.
