Murray Edmond is the New Zealand poet in the third of a Concert radio programme four-programme series exploring New Zealand poetry. Edmond selects poems from his new collection, “End Wall,” in which he looks at the interchange between one art and another; 9.23 tonight. Time for music Music about kings, historical and fictional, and even music by kings, makes up- “ Time for Music” on the Friday National Programme . at 7.30 p.m. The “royal” composers are the Waltz King, Johann Strauss and England's King Henry VIII. There is also the Troll King from Grieg’s “Peer Gynt” and music with kingship in the title by Purcell, German, Rodgers, Elgar and Beethoven amongst others.
Jazz Concord Jazz albums are featured on this week’s National Programme “Jazz Scene” at 9.15 p.m. First there are two tenor saxophonists — 27-year-old Scott Hamilton and Buddy Tate, his senior by 40 years. A segment from the 1980 Con cord Festival follows featuring guitarists Herb Ellis and Cal Collins. Finally the t'on cord Super Band are on stage in Tokyo in 1979
