Figure 8 course

The "Big M” 10,000 Race starts at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Armagh Street bridge entrance to Hagley Park. The 10 km course follows a figure eight route through streets in the vicinity, looping back through the park and around Victoria Lake for three laps, (see map). There are many crowd vantage points from which it will be possible to see the runners complete each lap. The finish area is in Hagley Park near the start line. At 11 a.m. a frisbee throwing competition gets underway in Hagley Park, near the race starting point. Anyone can turn up and attempt to win a prize by throwing a frisbee past certain pre-determined distances, depending on the conditions of the day. Prizes to be won include “Big M” T-shirts, caps, beach bags and hundreds of free I cartons of “Big M.”
