Super, for Budget

PA • Wellington Any Government change to National Superannuation will not be announced until Budget night this year, said the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) yesterday. ■ Mr Muldoon told a postCabinet press conference that superannuation was “inextricably bound up with personal income tax.” “Until we have decided what we are going to do with personal income tax we can’t decide what we are going to

do with National Superannuation,” he said. Mr Muldoon repeated that all National’s promises and commitments on superannuation would be kept. But the Government was looking at “the edges” of the scheme to see if it could do any costcutting. The taxation task force would meet their report deadline in the first week of April. The Budget date has not yet been announced.
