The chairman of the bord of the A.N.Z. Bank, Mr L. M. Papps, with the painting the bank presened to Christchurch recently. The watercolour of the Christchurch Cathedral,received by the Mayor, Mr Hamish Hay, marked the first meeting in Christdurch of the bank’s board. The painting, by a Belgianborn artist, Mr Gastonde Vel who has been living in New Zealand for the last 18 yers, will be hung in the Mayor’s office.
