Rescue boat under repair
The Sumner Surf Life-sav-ing club is temporarily without its in-shore rescue boat. The club president, Mr M. C. Lord, said that maintenance work on the motor, which prevented the vessel helping a small boat in difficulties on Sunday morning, would be finished in a few days. On Sunday an in-shore rescue boat from Taylor’s Mistake Surf Life-saving Club was called on for assistance.
It was incorrectly reported in “The Press” yesterday that the Sumner boat was away at the. national surf championships at Dunedin.
